    A Pandemic World.

In a few weeks, it will have been two years since I packed up my office, and moved it all home. Like most people, I worked in my dining room. I had the beautiful sunshine of the day streaming through the windows, and Harold of course. If you don’t know who Harold is, you must pick up a copy of ‘Nineteen Tales of Covid-19’. I enjoyed mid-day coffee breaks, and lunch out on my patio. While the world around me was falling apart, I remained in this little piece of heaven. I was enjoying everything working from home had to offer. I had made the decision early on in the…

    Nineteen Tales of Covid-19

Some may ask why I would review a book that contained a story that I wrote. Well, because I did not read the other stories! In the mayhem of putting it all together, I did not read any of the other stories submitted. So, just this very morning, I picked up the book and flipped to a page. What I found was that I could not put the book down! I could not stop at just one story as I had planned. I have read many novels in my life, and each one captivated me for different reasons. In the Deep Recesses

In the deep recesses of my mind, behind the web of memories, beyond the sea of emotion, there exists a world that I strive to describe in words. To write that perfect plot, create the perfect character and recreate for you, the world that is cloaked in a fog challenges my very being.  I can’t tell if it is the character throwing me into a personality conflict, or if it is the plots expanding and contracting like an accordion, that stop me dead in the midst of writing. As much as I would love to create complicated and deep plots, I can’t help but wonder how my mind can think…

    Stupid Mommy

As you all get to know me, you will learn that I think being a mother is the most important job I will ever have. Raising my daughter has delighted me with the thrill of the greatest roller coaster ride of my life. Every new skill she learned was monumental in every way. Her first steps, first tooth, first words – all great accomplishments that started to mould who she will one day be.    Of course, mothers play a most special role in that development with our encouragement and gentle or sometimes not so kind guidance. However, I never thought that I would be the one to teach my…

    Endless Quest or Insanity?

It is beyond me how one small activity, one small joy in my life can be so darned frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE writing. I love creating the characters, the stories, I love working through plots and sub-plots and describing in words what I used to imagine when I read.  But the process is a long one, and a very tedious one. In the creative writing classes I took, we were told,    “Write the story. Don’t edit, don’t go back – just write it from start to finish. Then worry about editing.”    WELL! It is much easier said than done. As I work on my recent brilliant story…
