Well, because I did not read the other stories! In the mayhem of putting it all together, I did not read any of the other stories submitted. So, just this very morning, I picked up the book and flipped to a page. What I found was that I could not put the book down! I could not stop at just one story as I had planned. I have read many novels in my life, and each one captivated me for different reasons. Be it, for emotion, characters, plot or relatability, stories can pull us in and for one moment, we can be elsewhere. <\/p>\n<p>The very fact that Nineteen Tales of Covid-19 is not a novel is what I love most about the book. I do not know about you, but as of late, I often do not have the time to sit and read an entire book. The convenience of picking up a book, and being able to follow a story through to the end in just a few minutes is satisfying. But do not think for one minute, that these stories will not pull you into an emotional roller coaster. Each and every one of these writer\u2019s takes you with them on their emotional journey \u2013 through frustration, anger, fear, laughter, and love. Essentially feeling your way through their stories. <\/p>\n<p>No two stories are alike, each one exceptional in character and plot so that the writer\u2019s perspective on their new normal is front and center. Each one presenting a unique view into the mind of the writer. Whether by way of fiction or true life, the characters live through their own drama that relates the reality of today\u2019s world.<\/p>\n<p>Since the pandemic started, our worlds have all changed in very different ways, and one person no more aware of the next persons new normal as we have hunkered down into a virtual world. But the varying degrees of our new normal is presented in each one of these stories. Creating a relationship between the reader and the writer that is rare yet exciting as the reader explores the pandemic world through the eyes of another. The reader can not help but relate in some way to each story, having experienced sometimes even just a piece of that reality. <\/p>\n<p>The book left me wanting to read more stories because for one brief moment in time \u2013 I did not feel alone in this new pandemic world. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some may ask why I would review a book that contained a story that I wrote.
